The PnrGo integration with Leon's aviation software simplifies the PAX & CREW data compliance process for air operators. In a joint webinar, Daniel Saluda from Leon Software and Małgorzata Woźniak from PnrGo address the PAX and CREW data regulations that have been generating the most user questions. They also explain how to activate the integration and where to find status updates for various PnrGo functionalities.
In this article, we summarise the main points covered in the webinar:
- Regulatory hotspots: What to watch for
- Regulatory hotspots: The easy way out
- Activating PnrGo in Leon Software
- Data input for PnrGo
- PnrGo checklist items in Leon Software

Regulatory hotspots: What to watch for
Some local PAX & CREW regulations can be quite tricky, and Leon users have reported stumbling upon unexpected problems especially in the UK, Turkey, Egypt, and Canada. Below are a few tips on what to pay attention to when flying to these destinations.
United Kingdom
The recent changes in the UK data submission process have been the hot topic of the year, and PnrGo has produced two webinars dedicated entirely to these new requirements. You can watch the recordings on our blog:
On a quick note, remember to:
- Submit data at least 2 hours before departure—otherwise, you risk a flight delay.
- Always check the correct input of passenger data into Leon—even minor spelling errors can lead to big fines.
Turkey
At the beginning of this year, Turkey started requesting passenger data from more air operators. There are different regulations for business aviation carriers and for bigger operators, like charters or scheduled airlines (e.g. for BA, only API submissions are required). What’s unusual is that domestic flights are also subject to these requirements. Mind the prescribed timings for data submissions—these vary depending on your flight type (domestic/international, departure/arrival).
Egypt
Not everyone knows that this country imposes a $1.99 fee per passenger (the so-called “traveller charge"). Larger operators in particular should factor this into their operational costs.
Canada
Canada has multiple data submission programs, and one of the main challenges is knowing which program applies to you.
- CANPASS: Previously addressed to business aviation (BA), this program now applies primarily to private operations. Data submission is limited to outdated methods—fax or phone—making it less convenient.
- Commercial carriers typically fall under:
- Interactive API (for arrivals) or AirExit (for departures): These programs handle immigration checks to verify whether passengers have valid travel permissions, such as visas.
- PPP (Passenger Protection Program): This ensures passengers are screened against the Canadian “no-fly” list as part of the security process.
- The combined result of both the immigration and security checks determines the passenger’s final status. PnrGo retrieves and transmits this status back to Leon Software.
- PNR Directive: This applies primarily to larger charter or scheduled airlines, adding an extra layer of regulatory compliance.
Regulatory hotspots: The easy way out
Most of the regulatory challenges listed above (except for the traveller charge payment in Egypt and the CANPASS submissions in Canada) can be quickly resolved for all Leon users through activating the PnrGo integration.
Activating PnrGo in Leon Software
In order to activate any of the PnrGo services, you need to be a PnrGo customer. Contact the PnrGo team to get you on board.
You will receive an email with an activation link to connect your PnrGo account to Leon Software. This link will take you to your Leon account, where you need to consent to PnrGo accessing specific data within Leon Software. Your consent is required to generate the API Key. To grant consent, you need to log in to the account with the administrator's credentials ( -> Admin - system).
After completing the task, the integration is established. From now on, your Leon Software account is integrated with your PnrGo account.
Data input for PnrGo
After activation, PnrGo runs in the background but requires accurate and complete data input in Leon. Operators are fully responsible for entering correct passenger (PAX) and crew information, as PnrGo cannot verify name entries against travel documents. While the system flags missing data, it won’t catch typos—so attention to detail is essential to avoid penalties.
PnrGo checklist items in Leon Software
Leon’s Checklist panel displays status updates related to PnrGo data transfers.
PnrGo items in the Checklist view in Leon Software.
By clicking each item, you can view detailed information on:
- the messages status → PNR GO item
- the sanctions screening results → PNRGO SANTION LIST item
- the interactive passenger boarding status → INTERACTIVE API item
- the API messages sent to the USA → EAPIS item: displayed separately from other API messages as the U.S. process is particularly complex, and involves additional information transfer (e.g. the confirmation code for a landing permit)
Important: The overall checklist status reflects the most critical issue. If action is required, the PnrGo system will send an email alert with specific guidelines. |
Additionally, pax statistics and SSR for charter carriers can be gathered by PnrGo directly from tour operators and online reservation systems, and displayed in the PAX tab in Leon Software. This information is useful for weight and balance calculations, catering planning, and airport assistance coordination.
